Mark Forman joined Acelot in 2026 as Chief Development Officer and Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Forman is a physician scientist with deep expertise in drug development. Prior to his current role, Dr. Forman served as Chief Medical Officer at two companies, Ventyx Biosciences, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that was acquired by Eli Lilly and focused on developing innovative medicines for patients living with inflammatory disorders including diseases affecting the central nervous system, and Passage Bio, a gene therapy company with a portfolio of rare monogenic CNS gene therapies. At both organizations, Dr. Forman oversaw and managed their research and development portfolio.
Dr. Forman has nearly two decades of experience in translational research for neurological disorders, including positions of increasing responsibility at the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, Acadia Pharmaceuticals, and Merck. Prior to joining Merck, Dr. Forman was an Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania where his research focused on the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disease, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Frontotemporal Dementia. Dr. Forman received his Ph.D. at Rockefeller University, M.D. at Duke University and a B.S. at Yale University.
