Colin Gottlieb, PhD, is a Senior Scientist II at Acelot, where he focuses on translational assay development across target engagement, biomarkers, and cell-based models. Throughout his career, Colin has worked across protein engineering, therapeutic discovery, and screening platform development, turning biological questions into robust, quantitative assays that de-risk early therapeutic programs.

Before Acelot, he was an early team member first at Mantra Bio and later at Instance Bio. While at Mantra Bio, he invented a novel class of exosome-targeting proteins that became the company’s core IP, culminating in the development of preclinical-validated exosome-based vaccine. Later, as an early employee at Instance Bio Colin worked to build automation-compatible enzymatic workflows for the production of low cost, complex DNA libraries.

Colin earned his PhD in pharmacology at Cornell and completed his postdoctoral research at Stanford, studying the earliest time-resolved actions of mammalian cellular protein quality control systems as they respond to acute protein unfolding crises.
